BTS of ShopKDR

Back in 2015, I told someone interviewing me for fashion school that I wanted to design swimwear.

They told me it would be too complicated and that I should lower my expectations and focus on high fashion instead.

I couldn’t stop thinking about my mom.

Every summer we’d go shopping, and she’d leave frustrated because nothing fit the way it should. She has a larger bust and a smaller back so finding a swimsuit that made her feel comfortable always felt impossible. I’d watch her settle for something she didn’t love simply because there weren’t many options.

At 7, I learned to sew small things by hand. At 13, I got my first actual machine and sewing became my identity and passion. After that interview and seeing my mom struggle, I began to go all in on swimwear fashion.

At first, I relied on patterns I found online, but none of them worked for her size. I spent countless hours learning, practicing, making mistakes, fixing machines, testing fabrics, and trying to create something that actually made her feel confident.

Eventually, pattern designers started offering extended sizing, and it changed everything. I could finally make pieces that fit more people the way I’d always hoped.

Today, ShopKDR offers sizes XS–22, and every size costs the same because confidence shouldn’t come with a different price tag.

Every bikini is handmade by me in Orlando, Florida.

I source every fabric.

I sew every piece.

I repair my own machines.

I build the website.

I answer your messages.

I pack every order.

There isn’t a warehouse behind ShopKDR.

It’s just me.

And every time someone chooses one of my bikinis, they’re choosing something that was made specifically for them and not pulled off a shelf with thousands of identical copies.

My dream has never been to build the biggest swimwear brand 😅

It’s to create bikinis that make people feel confident the moment they put them on.
